Falling Blossoms

Falling here
At my feet
In Spring.

What I see can no longer be
Forgotten.
Hopelessly in love,
You’re the only thing
That I can truly dream of…
But you’re like a blossom
In the wind,
Flitting away.

I reach out
And try to catch
The falling petals,
Fragments of my being.
A whisper in my mind
Says it’s hopeless.
I still try.
The petals of passion
Can’t be left to hit the floor.

It’s all flitting away,
By-passing me,
This Spring.
